This is the third book in the Psy-Changeling Series by Nalini Singh.
Blurb: Explore new heights of sensuality in this return to the world of the Psy—where two people who know evil intimately must unlock the good within their icy hearts…
As an Arrow, an elite soldier in the Psy Council ranks, Judd Lauren was forced to do terrible things in the name of his people. Now a defector, his dark abilities have made him the most deadly of assassins—cold, pitiless, unfeeling. Until he meets Brenna…
Brenna Shane Kincaid was an innocent before she was abducted—and had her mind violated—by a serial killer. Her sense of evil runs so deep, she fears she could become a killer herself. Then the first dead body is found, victim of a familiar madness. Judd is her only hope, yet her sensual changeling side rebels against the inhuman chill of his personality, even as desire explodes between them. Shocking and raw, their passion is a danger that threatens not only their hearts, but their very lives…

Caressed by Ice is the third book in the Psy-changeling series. This was actually the first book I read and although it was slightly harder to grasp to begin with, I can’t help up hold this book close to my heart.
So even if you begin reading the third book first, it is still understandable, although I do advise you read ‘Slave to Sensation’ first.
Caressed by Ice is Brenna and Judd’s story. This is different take on the Psy-changeling world as we get to really see into the Lauren family and learn about Judd on a deeper level. We learn about his past, his duty within the Psy net and how much it cost him to give it up.
You can’t help but love Judd as the story progresses, you can see his struggle with accepting his new life and how he tries to handle his growing emotions for Brenna along with his conflicting feelings of want and fear.
Caressed by Ice is a very well written book, the characters are all connectable and although we mainly stay with Judd and Brenna, we interchange between other character too, seeing how Sascha and Lucas’ story is still progressing.
Singh never lets us forget characters and always introduces us to new characters, it creates a connection that never breaks, never ends.
Not many books have the ability to captivate and hold the readers like this series.
This series has everything you need and like the previous two books, the romance is hot, the only difference is, the romance in this book needs to be hot enough to melt the ice around not one, but two hearts.
