Kinsey Holley is the amazing writer of a number of books, including the ‘The Nanny Years,’ and ‘Kiss and Kin,’ and many more, one including cowboys, with a twist!
Kinsey has been keeping a low profile for a while now as she doesn’t want certain members of her community to know that she writers ‘steam’ romances. I think she’s an amazing writer who deserves a lot of praise for the work she has created! She is such a good writer and I can’t wait to read more of her work!
On the surface, court reporter Lark Manning looks like the luckiest girl in the world, blessed with great friends and a wonderful family. Underneath, she harbours a hopelessly unrequited love for the sexy werewolf everyone thinks of as her cousin. Taran rarely notices her except to condescend or lecture. He’s treated her the same way since she was eight years old, and there’s no reason to think he’ll ever change.
Taran Lloyd, a detective in the Houston Police Department’s Shifters Investigations Unit (SHIU), lives for those rare moments he gets to spend around Lark, torturing himself with what he can’t have. Kin only by marriage, she thinks of him as her big brother. He couldn’t bear her pity—or her disgust—if she learned he wants her for his mate.
When Weres from a rival pack attack her, Lark screams out the first name that comes to mind--Taran. Only this sexy alpha can keep her safe until they find out who wants her dead, and why. But keeping her safe means keeping her close. And the closer they get, the harder it gets for these not-really-cousins to honour their commitment to keep their paws off.
‘Kiss and Kin’ is a remarkable well written anthology and it contains everything a hot shifter romance should.
But this book is more than that. ‘Kiss and Kin’ has a very well thought out crime/mystery action going on too.
This book is a fast paced, well-structured and planned out anthology full of excitement, romance, a touch of the forbidden and action all rolled into one brilliant piece of writing.
I really can’t praise this book enough and (although I know Kinsey is worried about writing Nick and TJ’s story) I look forward to reading all her other work and that certain book which has been holding her fans at the edge of a cliff for a long, long time.
‘The Nanny Years’ is a great prequel to ‘Yours, Mine and Howls’ and I still have ‘Ready to Run’ to read, but I can promise ya’ll this, if you love Shifter Romances and/or a touch of the forbidden, then you will love ‘Kiss and Kin’.
So if you’re planning on reading this book, then be ready to be blown away by the plot, story, characters and everything that makes a story great, because once you’re read it, you’ll be hooked!!
