Alyxandra Harvey's Stolen Away
Alyxandra Harvey lives in Ontario, Canada. She loves medieval dresses, believes in ghosts and could possibly believe in other paranormal/mythical creatures.
She has wrote a series of books, including the Drake Chronicle Series, best known for the first book in the series, ‘My Love Lies Bleeding.’
Blurb: For seventeen years, Eloise Hart had no idea the world of Faery even existed. Now she has been abducted and trapped in the Rath of Lord Strahan, King of Faery. Strahan was only meant to rule for seven years, as Faery tradition dictates, and then give up his crown to another. But he won't comply, and now chaos threatens both worlds.
The only one who can break his stranglehold on the Faery court is his wife, Eloise's aunt, Antonia. Using Eloise to lure Antonia, Strahan captures his wife, desperate to end the only threat to his reign. Together with her best friends Jo and Devin, Eloise must place her trust in Lucas, her handsome protector, and Strahan's mysterious son, Eldric, and forge alliances with other Fae in a dangerous attempt to free Antonia for ever.

Having picked this book up, solely based on the fact of it having been written by Alyxandra Harvey, I can say that I am not disappointed that I read it.
This books, although tagged as part of the Drake Chronicle Series, is a great stand-alone book, which you can read without having to read the Drake books. (Although I do love them Drake boys).
The book opens with a prologue and I love how Harvey has managed to incorporate some random English words into this opening scene. One of my favourite sentences within the whole book is when Jo says ‘I’d snog that.’
I found this not only exciting to know our lovely English words were being used, but also extremely funny, because let’s face it, how many times do you read that in an American novel?
Whilst the main protagonist – main character – of this book is Eloise, Harvey has written the book with switching point of views (POVs).
The book follows Eloise’s story as well as Jo’s and as both characters have such different personalities and goals, it all integrates into the novel really well.
I have read many stories on the Fae and I can honestly say this is one of the best stories I’ve read so far.
With the perfect balance between mystery and suspense, tension, action and of course the wonderful chemistry of romance sizzling within the pages, anyone who loves the Paranormal romance genre, particularly those who have read and loved Tithe by Holly Black, I can guarantee you will be daft to miss out on the chance to read this book.
This is a Young Adult (YA) book which does contain things some readers may find dark. 12+
