Storm and Stone was an amazing read! I began reading this long awaited book at 8:30PM and read the whole book cover to cover. I literally couldn’t put this book down until I’d finished at 4:30AM!!
Stirling has created such a grasping characters, Raven (our main female protagonist) is written so very well. Her personality, her description, even her name all constitute to making her such an amazing, relatable character.
The story begins with an interest hook that doesn’t fail to pull you into the story and the action is present from the start. It really is a book you cannot put down once you start (so make sure you have the night free, or that room or work will never get done!)
Raven appears to be a strong, independent character and we see a lot of the story from her POV (point of view), we get to connect with her through to story and we learn who she really is behind her shields, but we are also given Kieran’s POV and we get an excellent understanding of his personality and reasons. (I admit, I felt amazingly smart reading his POV).
Both characters help progress the story through the fast paced and the slower paced scenes, yet Storm and Stone really doesn’t slow down that much and I love this book even more because of that fact.
I love how the book is set in England, it even uses English phrases, words spelt the English way and I love these small present facts. It is so hard to come across Paranormal and YA Romance books that have been set in England and Stirling does a brilliant job, she is, our own English author and a brilliant one at that.
This book is really well written, the story and plot are both structures and created in such a way that you can’t help but love this book.
It is a YA Romance, which contains brilliant action and fast paced scenes. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a great read.
As this book is YA Romance, I would say anyone over the age of 12 is fine to read this book. Any younger and they may not understand all the concepts and words, but it is a great book. One of the best I have read in a while.
