Finding good books on writing Fiction is difficult, knowing which ones are worth the time and money is even harder.
Having read too many to list, I can honestly give the best Ten recommendations.
1. The Road To Somewhere - Dr Robert Graham
2. Doing Creative Writing - Steve May
3. The Elements of Style - William Strunk Jr.
4. The Cambridge Introduction to Narrative - Abbott (Although based on theory and it isn't really centred around Fiction, it's a really good book to have.)
5. Writing Short Stoires - Alisa Cox
6. Self-Editing for Fiction Writers - Renni Browne
7. Writer's Journey: Mythic Structure For Writers - Christopher Vogle (This is a must have for anyone who loves writing myths).
8. Writing a Novel - Nigel Watt (This is for the basic structures and techniques of novel writing, but don't think this isn't worth reading, because every writer has the ability to improve and the more we learn, the better we become.)
9. The Cambridge Introduction To Creative Writing - David Morley.
10. Writers' & Artists' Yearbook - Martina Cole (Not based on Fiction Writing, but a must have book for Writers of all Genres!)
