Nalini Singh was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. She spent three years living and working in Japan, during which time she took the chance to travel around Asia. She’s back in New Zealand now, but is always plotting new trips.
Blurb: Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux knows she's the best—but she doesn't know if she's good enough for this job. Hired by the dangerously beautiful Archangel Raphael, a being so lethal that no mortal wants his attention, only one thing is clear—failure is not an option...even if the task is impossible.
Because this time, it's not a wayward vamp she has to track. It's an archangel gone bad.
The job will put Elena in the midst of a killing spree like no other…and pull her to the razor's edge of passion. Even if the hunt doesn't destroy her, succumbing to Raphael's seductive touch just may. For when archangels play, mortals break…

Angel’s Blood is one of the best vampire/angel books out there. I’ve read this book a number of times and I will definitely be reading it again soon.
The language which Singh uses is very impressive, it’s the ‘voice’ every author wishes they have. The writing hooks the reader from the very first sentence and as I write my own work, I know just how hard and how significant this is.
Elena Deveraux is courageous, honourable, brave, smart and badass. She is a well-crafted character who has the ability to reach out to readers, enabling the readers to relate to her in various ways. She is a true heroin of the time.
Raphael is a dangerous archangel who can be a bit of a dick, but who has a heart that could capture and melt any girl. Dangerous but sexy is after all the new in.
Singh writes from two POVs and she does this with Elena and Raphael. What fascinates me about this, is that Singh has managed to write from a male and female prospective. A lot of writers find it difficult to write from both POVs, yet Singh does so with remarkable skill.
The only question is, is this book missing anything? The answer, no.
And I don’t ever say that about books. Every book has room for improvement but Angel’s Blood is one of the very few, very rare books that is the closest books can come to perfection.
